Interior of Ballywalter Park
The Inner Hall
A
magnificent room, 60’ long, reaching to the full height of
the house, and with a magnificent stained glass cupola above the
grand staircase. The Inner Hall is ideal for a drinks reception
or for an awards presentation, with a maximum capacity of 120 –
150 persons. The flexibility of the room equally allows for the
smaller, more intimate gathering.
The Drawing Room
A
light, bright room reaching to the full height of the south bow
wing, and with windows facing south and west. French windows lead
out onto a sunny terrace, with level raised lawns – an ideal
spot for displays and exhibitions.
The Drawing Room can seat 80 – 100 persons theatre style
or up to 40 in boardroom or classroom format. This room is also
used for larger luncheons and dinners, with a capacity of around
60 persons.
The
Dining Room
The perfect location for that formal dinner, with the original
dining table being able to seat up to 24 persons. The Dining Room
is another warm and bright room, with large windows facing west.
The Library
The sumptuous and indeed luxurious surroundings of the Library
make it an extremely comfortable place to relax and unwind, and
is particularly suitable for after-dinner coffee and drinks.
The Billiard Room & Smoking Room
Two
very traditional rooms, once but now no longer a male preserve,
allow for a little gentle snooker in the evening, perhaps over a
glass of brandy and a cigar.
The Conservatory
The
ideal spot for a drinks reception in the summer months, where guests
can relax with a glass of champagne amidst the tropical splendour
of exotic plants growing in Lanyon’s spectacular domed Conservatory.
The Conservatory also provides an alternative location for that
more informal summer supper, with an opportunity to wander through
double doors out into the landscaped and extensive pleasure grounds.
